The Waqf Amendment Bill is very dangerous in terms of its contents, this bill is not only a direct interference in the religious affairs of Muslims but also contradicts the fundamental rights of the Constitution of India, because the proposed amendments are also against the religious freedom guaranteed by the Constitution of India and violate Articles 14, 15, 21, 25, 26, 29, 30 and 300A of the Constitution of India. This bill is discriminatory and part of the BJP's communal agenda, through which it wants to strip Muslims of their basic rights and make them second-class citizens. The Indian Muslims has completely rejected this unconstitutional, undemocratic and unfair bill. These views were expressed by Markaz Tahaffuz-e-Islam Hind's Director Mohammed Furqan in a press statement.
He said that last year, when this bill was presented in Parliament and due to strong opposition from the opposition parties, it was handed over to the JPC, that the JPC would take opinions on this bill from Muslim religious, social and political institutions and stakeholders and present its fair report. But unfortunately, the JPC not only sought opinions from unrelated institutions on this important religious issue of Muslims, but also from people who are always against Muslims, and in its report, it disregarded all the opposition's suggestions and presented it to the Speaker.
Mohammed Furqan said that this bill is lawlessness in the name of law and is so dangerous that after this bill becomes law, millions of acres of Waqf properties which were Waqf by Muslims ancestors will be snatched away and the government will take possession of it, and difficulties will also arise in further doing any Waqf. He said that appointing non-Muslims members in the Central Waqf Council and Waqf Board and transferring the power of the Waqf Tribunal to the Collector clearly shows that the government's intention is to usurp Waqf properties.
The Markaz director Mohammed Furqan, said that the Muslims had protested against this unconstitutional Waqf Amendment Bill in different parts of the country, and millions of Muslims had tied black bands on their arms as a symbol of silent protest against it on the occasion of Jumma Tul Wida (Last Friday of Ramazan) and Ramazan Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr). Not only all Muslim religious, political and social parties and organizations are against this bill, but other minorities are also opposing this bill, because they know that today Muslim community are in targeted, then tomorrow they will be also targeted. But unfortunately, the government did not listen to the opposition, the Muslims, or other minority communities, and through its stubbornness, brought this bill to parliament and, despite strong opposition from Muslims, the justice-loving citizens, and the opposition, got this unconstitutional Waqf Amendment Bill passed on its intoxication with power. Which is a black chapter and a stigma on the world's largest democracy.
Mohammed Furqan said that Muslims can never accept this unconstitutional Waqf Amendment Bill, because if it becomes law, our Masjids, madrasas, Khanqah, Mazar, and Graveyards will all be at stake. Therefore, soon our national organizations especially the common platform of our all national organization's, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) will announce the nationwide protest against this Waqf Amendment Bill. We have to respond to its call and join the protest.
Mohammed Furqan addressed the Muslims and said that there is absolutely no need to despair over the current situation because difficult situations and trials only come to living nations. Living nations face difficult situations with wisdom and courage and chart a course for the future with renewed determination and courage. He said that Muslims should also keep in mind that success is not presented on a golden platter, but rather requires enduring tears, blood, hunger, and hardship, and continuous struggle and sacrifice. So don't consider yourself defeated, that if you can't dare, then you certainly can't do anything. Always keep your thoughts high because victory and success begin with a man's determination.
The Markaz Director Mohammed Furqan also asked the BJP's allies, especially the JDU and TDP, who supported to pass this bill, to wait for time. The dagger they have stabbed in the back of Muslims will be answered in the elections. And, the BJP government should also listen that till now Muslims have been very patient and have endured every injustice, but now Muslims will never sit silent and will protest in every corner of the country with the justice-loving citizens until this unconstitutional Waqf Amendment Bill is withdrawn.
At last the Director of Markaz Tahaffuz-e-Islam Hind Mohammed Furqan, said that the sectarian government and its allied parties should also fear the wrath of Allah because ultimately this waqf property belongs to Allah!
